The Pilot Operated Absolute valve ( P.O.A.) was used by both Ford and GM in that era. When the A/C was on the compressor ran continuously and it bypasses at a exact pressure to regulate evaporator pressure and temperature. R134A needs to be at a lower pressure... Login to read more.
