I agree, 7 to 8 years seem to be average before needing service. Some 5 years, some 10 or more. With newer vehicle holding less then 16 ounces of refrigerant the average may drop to 5 years or so. Back in the 70's with some systems 16 ounces low still cooled. ... Login to read more.
