Dan, With the recirc and a/c buttons still flashing the system has failed the cooldown test. You didn't mention in your post if you fully recharged the system, 50 degrees isn't cold enough, it needs to achieve 40-45 degrees within 2 minutes to pass cooldown. W... Login to read more.
