Scott: R-12 kind of spoiled us because it carried mineral oil that made the oil and dirt stain. R-134a just pushes oil along, and the PAG oil might get to the leak and might not get washed off. Many R-134a leaks will not have the oil stain. HTH, Tom Birch Login to read more.
