By direct flow what are you referring to? The 96, 97 and some 98's had a recall on them to install a dealer heater hose bypass kit. It included resrictors in the degas hoses and specific hose sizes to make it all work. In mid 98 Ford "cleaned" it all up for us... Login to read more.
