David, I have found many of those model K cars with a bad Bi-Level vacuum diaphram. With the controls on normal a/c pull the red(I believe) hose off and check for vacuum. If it has vacuum that is the correct hose. Then plug it up with a small steel ball. Evert... Login to read more.
