As just a wild guess, I suspect that the bootleg tool does not have appropriate CAN communications capabilities. I'm not sure where Honda made the change to CAN diagnostics, but we have used our non CAN Mastertech on 04 and 05 cars so I suspect they aren't CAN... Login to read more.
