I suggest going with the IDS instead. Sure, it's a little bulkier with the laptop and all... but, even if you don't buy the VMM later and make a full blown tool out of it, the IDS still does more than the PDS. The PDS won't flash IC's or TCM. And.. the PDS won... Login to read more.
