Its basically an arc welder. Well no, the tip is split, and when you touch the piece to solder it shorts the two "terminals" together causing heat by the short. Years ago my mAC dealer demo'd it, but it wasnt very consistant. ie: Had to play with holding it fo... Login to read more.
