Beta 4 and 3.6 .....are they the same thing? If so, why is one called 4.0 and the other 3.6?

I keep hearing about 4.0 beta and I'd like to try it. Jay emailed me the latest and it is called 3.6? He said it was the same thing? Login to read more.
