You are correct. Its the amount of time the welder can be used, Without over heating the transformer or the rectifier.

I belive though it is in 10 minute intervalls.

20% duty cycle = weld 2 min out of 10 min.

50% duty cycle = weld 5 min out of 1... Login to read more.
