Kelly, the difference is that the Ford 1 (black pigtail) was originally for non DCL (most pre 90)systems. The 1A (red wire) is required for DATA communication (most 90 and newer). There is a newer Ford data connector that works on all the EEC IV style connecto... Login to read more.
