If you have not already done this I have a Pontiac block sitting at the shop I can measure for you Monday. I don't use any specific taps on cast iron. I do use tapping oil. That makes it a little easier. If it is a 9/16 hole I dont think a 1/4" pipe plug is go... Login to read more.
