If you want to use solid carbide it better be in a lathe or a mill. Carbide is hard and brittle. Cobalt is fine for most anything. HSS is fine for most as well. Cutting has more to do with feed, speed and the angles of the cutting tip and how it is treated wit... Login to read more.
