Look at the stud... Sometimes as you said, you can weld through the nut and weld the nut to the stud. Other times it's FAR easier to weld the washer to the stud, then tack the nut to the washer. Look, mock it up, make a plan, but don't feel it "has to be" one ... Login to read more.
