Re: Battery tester
Posted to Tool & Equipment Forum on 12/1/2019 8 Replies

Hello Dave: I can't help but address your valid question. It has been asked many times and the same discussion occurs each time leaving some aspects of this issue unaddressed. Is there an answer that addresses 3 problem areas of battery failures, while battery is at rest, while battery is cranking and while battery is recharging?

All you need to test a battery (while in the vehicle) is a DMM, a current clamp and the battery connected into the vehicle. 3 test steps are all it takes and they are completed in less than 5 minutes. Sometimes these 3 test steps can be completed in about 1 minute if the battery passes each test. You will know if the battery is good or bad provided you have the knowledge how these 3 electrical tests identify battery problems. You don't need a battery load tester, you already have one in the car. Why not use it? I have the answers in my intellectual property.
