mastercool flaring tool-HUGE improvement!
I used to dread using this when doing brake lines on the car. It was almost impossible to hold the blocks in place, push in the brake till flush and then tighten the clamp-WITHOUT everything moving and no longer lined up. You really needed at least 1 more hand. Well now this tool is a PLEASURE to use. I simply used a socket with a little electrical tape wrapped around it to hold it a little tighter behind the blocks. This stops the blocks from moving all over. You can leave the clamp loose enough to easily slide the brake line it-it will butt up flush with the socket/end of blocks. Now simply tighten clamp-WITHOUT everything moving all over the place. Remove socket and continue on to making the flare. Another note-I have been using that copper alloy line that is so much easier to bend and does not rust-great!! Another note-I now use metric bubble flares when connecting lines-only 1 step, do not need to do 2nd step to complete the inverted flare. They seal great and faster/easier being only 1 step.
