Re: SCOPE,DSO ADVANCED INSTRUCTION BOOK / VIDEO
Posted to Tool & Equipment Forum on 11/9/2019

Hay Glen,

Thanks for your input.I have been using scopes since the Snap-on L-2000 came out...ie UEI DSO back in the early 90s.Then I went on to Simu-tech which not only is a electronic breakout box but you can use it as a 8 channel scope too. From there I went to their Engine Tech for ignition diagnostics.Again from there I went to include a Sun-500.I was very happy with all later scopes & they all worked well & differently helped in all types of diagnostics until Snap -on stopped supporting them.I can still use them in limited ways but with out current software I am SOL for using in the way they were originally engineered.Anyway I have been looking at other scopes for many reasons but it seems that they all list their specs in different ways which makes it hard to compare all of them equally.I am somewhat fibular with Pico & also looked at USB autocsope mainly due to their scripts for analysis. Now if you want a good trainer for scopes I suggest Bill Fulton of Ohio Automotive Technology. He has made many instruction videos in conjunction with AVI..Automotive Video Inc. of which I have many of their products.I believe his are the best for scope info including ignition systems.Check them out.You won't be disappointed. You can find some on You-Tube also.I believed I typed in "cop ignition system testing". Anyway I have become long winded here but like I originally posted I want in-depth info on how scopes are set up internally with extended info on how their specs should be interpreted etc.
