We have the genuine Ford IDS with genuine Ford VCM II (Bosch) Recently got a new laptop and lost wireless between the two but never did the setup on the new laptop, just used the cable. Now suddenly no more communication with the cable either. Tried 4 different cables because have had many printer cables which is what they use go bad. Using the VCI manager my computer will acknowledge the connection but not the VCI manager. Tried the hold the reset button down while connecting the cable and never get a beep from the VCM. Several hour on the phone with tech help for the device (a different help line than the dealers get because we are a fleet company) and no luck. Am going this morning to the Dealership I used to work for to plug into one of their laptops to see if it makes any difference. We do lave a lot of firewalls on our computers and network but it has been working until recently and they say no changes in our security. Any body else experienced this?
