You said the wrench never sees anything greater than 80 ft lbs. How much torque do you think 90 degrees is AFTER you have already torqued the bolt? Dont use the 3/8 for head bolts. Its too hard. (I tried to use it a few times my self.) I cant speak on the hand... Login to read more.
