There are a lot of portable AC units out there now, anywhere from 9,000 BTU on up to 60,000 BTU. They can get expensive, but the 9-15,000 BTU range has a ton of choices under $500. Might be worth trying one or two, may not cool the whole shop but probably ... Login to read more.
