I have been using a plumbers strap wrench (Ridgid) for about 20 years. Gives a little bit when you torque it, but the harder you pull, the tighter it gets. Strap cannot mar teeth on pulley. Plus will hold anything round. You can get them in several sizes. Login to read more.
