I saw this as a tech years ago, and replaced lots of Ford 6 cylinder rod bearings to cure high oil consumption. My boss at the time explained that the sloppy bearings caused 'ring flutter', which pumped oil past the rings.(He had alot of creative explainations... Login to read more.
