One of the projects I do is a basic electrical panel with a fuse relay switch light built out of thin aluminum that they build. The skill set involves fabrication, crimping with barrel roll and standard pliers, soldering every joint and connection, multimeter use, test light use, voltage drop checks. After it is built and works as designed, I put bugs into them and have them troubleshoot, eg blown fuse, bulbs, poor grounds, shorted, open relays.
