Hi Harry. I don't even reach under the vehicle to lower and pull the stands out, once the vehicle has been raised off the stands in preparation for lowering to the ground.

I use an old trunk lid torsion rod (1/4" diameter) that will reach way under a vehicle... Login to read more.
