I realize this is probably an ancient question.

I have a Dell Laptop that came with XP Professional. (Win. 7 was available but auto programs were XP at that time)

I use my iPad for the most part now. I was looking on eBay for Win. 7 upgrade because I really rarely use the laptop. Win. 32

From what I gather I need a New installation disk. With a license and a key. Many available but would like any tips or thing to be aware of.

I will probably take it to a computer store for the upgrade or should I go to the store and ask for their advice. Would hate to bring my own 7 Upgrade (parts that auto shops frown on) and have them do just the install labor.

Any advice pro. or neg. I do not want to get a new computer. This Dell works great. I do know I should upgrade the Ram which I plan to do.
