I agree that Win 7 is a better choice for compatibility issues, but I have used 8.1 for a year now, and it absolutely smokes 7 for speed. 8.1 also gave us back the desktop on PCs, but is far more adept at doing things that slow 7 to a crawl. My Windows 7 machi... Login to read more.
