Well, Mandriva is RPM-based. (Red hat Package Manager) and the Ubuntu's are DEB or Debian based. I find most all Linux based machines to be snappier than a comparable XP-based machine. Once that is said, a computer with W98 or W2k will be faster on comparable ... Login to read more.
