Capacitors, perhaps yeah. Look for tops of some bulging. They're going to be large ones usually. 3/8" diameter.

I'd pull the processor and heat sink too. Check if the dialectic/ heat sink compound has dried out. Some had tape too, it could crap out. If there... Login to read more.
