Looks like I've found an "issue" with the IX250 and AE.

The USB port is a USB 1.1 rating, and AE needs a USB 2.0 rated port for the VCI connector.

I'm trying to do a "workaround" with a mini-PCI USB card, but even if I can't make that work USB... Login to read more.
