XP doesn't 'see' other w/s on Novell 3.12 network

My laptop with XP home edition does not see other workstations on the Novell 3.12 network and they do not see the laptop. I installed the latest Novell client on the lap top so it accesses the server. The other PCs are using W98 se and W ME.
