In this webinar course, Tony Salas will be discussing diagnostic techniques to be used on a Duramax L5P. Diagnosis will require the technician to have knowledge and understanding of the subsystems in this newer L5P Duramax.

Subsystems he will train on are:

a). Engine overview, compression and intake - not always a basic thing! b). Denso Common Rail Fuel injection system c). Turbocharger d). Aftertreatment (DOC, DPF and SCR)

Diagnosis will begin discussing a basic strategy and continued with the scan tool using diagnostic trouble codes (DTC). Diagnostic Codes to be reviewed will cover fuel timing and aftertreatment. Training will also cover lift pump operation and network communication.

This course will also cover issues found with injector timing and volume DTCs that can be an issues especially setting after an injector replacement.

Use of the service manual procedures will be demonstrated and emphasized. Scan tool data and screen shots will be demonstrated.

Note: This is a continuation of L5P Introduction course.
