Electrical 1 Training Course - February 23 & 24, 2021
------------------------------------------------------------
Hands-on and classroom course instruction is focused towards
applying basic electrical theory and use in testing circuits
and components such as sensors and actuators found on
vehicles with electronic control systems.
This two-day course provides the technician with the
understanding of electrical principles and practices that
are utilized while performing a driveability diagnosis.
Ohm's Law is analyzed as well as the theory of DC current.
Discussion includes the operation of series and parallel
circuits. By using electrical trainers, technicians are
provided the opportunity to learn of the features of a
multimeter (DVOM) and layout of electrical circuits.
Technicians are provided access to vehicles for a practical
understanding of the theory analyzed and used to test
charging, sensor and actuator circuits. Instruction on
wiring diagrams (schematics) are learned and applied on
various trucks on hand. Technicians will use worksheets to
assemble circuits which include relays and circuit breakers.
Course Objective: Given the electrical trainers, multimeter
(DVOM), instruction and service information, the technician
will test and understand DC electrical behavior in common
circuits found on diesel engines today.
Course Fee: $580.00

Electrical 2 Training Course - February 25 & 26, 2021
-----------------------------------------------------------
Basic electrical and electronic fundamentals were covered in
the Electrical 1 Training Course. Electricity was described
as the movement of electrons. This course continues with the
types of resistors and variable resistors such as the
potentiometer.
Circuits with variable resistors will be assembled and
reviewed. Construction of variable resistors, plus their
uses, will be explained and showed on a vehicle. Sensors
that use these variable sensors will be analyzed in wiring
diagrams. Once analysis is completed, there will be assigned
tasks on the vehicle as hands-on training.
Training will continue with the introduction of semi
conductors. Construction of the bipolar transistor will be
viewed with the use of another semiconductor, the diode. P
type and N type material will be shown, and circuits will be
assembled during the course on training boards. Technicians
will use the multimeter test transistors and diode properly
in a circuit.
Training will include the use of wiring diagrams and
schematics. Technicians will analyze power and ground
distribution circuits. Use of the popular manufacture's
wiring diagrams will be quizzed in order to learn how to
read a diagram properly.
There will be an introduction to labscope operation and use.
Basic operation of measuring voltage and time is used to
learn how to read basic DC signals. Using digital labscope
will allow the technician to use this tool to diagnose
issues found on vehicles today.
Hands-on exercises will be conducted on
electrical/electronic training boards and on various
vehicles.
Multimeters will be available for use, but technicians are
encouraged to bring their own.
