Dodge/Ram introduced the Cummins 6.7L in 2007. Unlike the
5.9L, the newer engine was equipped with emission controls.
A Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) alone with a Diesel
Particulate Filter (DPF) were added. Common rail injectors
used were IQA coded but in time the codes were eliminated.
After the 2011 model year, there was the introduction of
Select Catalyst Reduction (SCR).
In this 1.5 hour live webinar, Tony Salas, instructor and
technician, will demonstrate the operation of the following:
• Turbocharger operation and issues
• Common rail review and instruct on the new CP4 pump
on the 2019 models
• Engine diagnosis
• Aftertreatment system and tests to perform
• TIPM modules and wiring
Tony will review the use of the scan tool and demonstrate
data that is important for diagnosis. He will also discuss
case studies on driveability issues.
Emphasis will be placed on following a diagnostic process to
help you, the technician, have a structured and educated
understanding of what you are working on.
