ATG Schedule of Classes for September 2017
Posted to Industry Events Forum on 8/28/2017
Greetings, everyone!
The Automotive Training Group (ATG) has the following
classes available for the month of September 2017. All
classes run from 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. each night for both
evenings.
CHRYSLER DRIVABILITY & CODE DIAGNOSTICS:
This all-new Chrysler training seminar is the latest
installment in our Engine Performance series, and continues
the evolution of our products from a systems-based layout to
a diagnostics-based layout. Because of the new format,
today's more complex symptoms and codes become easier to
understand in the classroom and far easier to diagnose back
in the shop. This approach applies to new and legacy engine
management systems, so it will change the way you approach
any Chrysler vehicle. This seminar and manual were built by
analyzing actual diagnostic struggles and documenting the
shortest diagnostic paths for engine management and
emissions systems. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Fiat applications
have a tremendous number of no-starts, stalling complaints,
misfiring, and trouble codes that really mean something
else. This seminar focuses on the best practices to give you
victory over these faults, so it's a great investment in
your career.
*Bangor, ME: September 20th & 21st, 2017
*Chicopee, MA: September 27th & 28th, 2017
DURAMAX LML & LGH DIESEL ENGINE & EMISSIONS
DIAGNOSTICS: Diesel engines are very simple -- just
compress some air and fuel and you get combustion. However,
with the advent of common rail fuel pressurization and
delivery systems, diagnosis and repair became a complicated
and time-consuming game. Add variable vane turbochargers,
feedback EGR systems, and exhaust aftertreatment systems
like Diesel Particulate Filters, Selective Catalyst
Reduction, and Diesel Exhaust Fluid injection, and it's hard
to know where to start. Other published Duramax repair
information is inconsistent, and many of the flow charts run
you in circles performing tests that would actually take
days to complete. In contrast, our approach looks for
high-level indicators to make a better possible-cause list
and then offers multiple simple tests to trim that list as
quickly as possible without taking too much apart. Duramax
coverage includes special tools, workarounds, unused Scan
Tool functions, and other great shortcuts for ruling out
time-consuming tests. From a simple high-level pass to
system-specific tips, this seminar covers the entire
diagnostic process. We have included dozens of real world
examples to prove that these strategies will find the root
cause of your code or symptom in the shortest amount of
time.
*Reno, NV: September 6th & 7th, 2017
ADVANCED LAB SCOPE VOLTAGE & CURRENT
TESTING: OEM flowcharts are linear documents that
focus on open circuit testing. This process takes too long,
but it can also be misleading because faults don't always
show up under flowchart testing conditions. That's what
theLab Scope offers -- a way to measure actual circuit
activity under actual operating conditions. This seminar and
manual are designed to challenge even the most experienced
Lab Scope users with new techniques and tips to leverage the
power of the tools. However, even new Lab Scope users will
get what they need to take those first steps. Come to this
class to get the most out of your tools, learn new time
saving combination tests, and find strategies for quickly
pinpointing elusive faults.
*Shreveport, LA: September 11th & 12th, 2017
CUMMINS 5.9L & 6.7L COMMON RAIL DIESEL:
Diesel engines are very simple -- just compress some air and
fuel and you get combustion. But with the advent of common
rail fuel pressurization and delivery systems, diagnosis and
repair became a complicated and time-consuming game. Add
variable vane/nozzle turbochargers, feedback EGR systems,
and exhaust aftertreatment systems like Diesel Particulate
Filters, Selective Catalyst Reduction, and Diesel Exhaust
Fluid injection, and it's hard to know where to start. Other
published Cummins repair information is inconsistent, and
many of the flow charts run you in circles performing tests
that would take days. In contrast, our approach looks for
high-level indicators to make a better possible-cause list,
and then offers multiple simple tests to trim that list as
fast as possible without taking too much apart. Cummins
engine management and emissions systems are each
comprehensively covered, including special tools,
workarounds, unused Scan Tool functions, and other great
shortcuts. From a simple high-level pass to system-specific
tips, this seminar covers the entire diagnostic process. We
have included real-world examples to prove that these
strategies will find the root cause of your code or symptom
in the shortest amount of time.
*Charleston, SC: September 25th & 26th, 2017
DIRECT INJECTION & AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS
DIAGNOSTICS: This all-new training seminar is the
third in our popular Import series. Gasoline Direct
Injection (GDI) is simple in design but difficult to
diagnose because the traditional shortcuts of swapping out
parts and disassembling for inspection are not practical.
This is why we have adapted ATG's 'High Level Indicator'
approach for ruling out possible causes before parts come
off. The same approach applies to induction system
diagnostics where repair information is vague, component
access is difficult, and feedback loops are not always
available. For all systems covered, the approach is first
universal, and becomes manufacturer-specific only after the
possible cause and tool/test lists have been completed and
trimmed down. This seminar and manual were built by
analyzing actual diagnostic struggles and documenting the
shortest diagnostic paths for these systems. Because of this
practical approach, you won't be buried in useless
engineering detail -- only useful facts that you can measure
and that will help guide your diagnostic path. This seminar
continues the ATG tradition of saving you diagnostic time.
We're in the 'wasted test prevention' business, and we hope
you can attend!
