ATG Schedule of Classes for June 2017
Posted to Industry Events Forum on 5/25/2017

Greetings, everyone!

The Automotive Training Group (ATG) has the following classes available for the month of June 2017. All classes run from 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. each night for both evenings, except where indicated below.

6.0L, 6.4L & 6.7L POWERSTROKE ENGINE PERFORMANCE: ATG's Engine Performance Training series helps you choose the best tests that get you the most information with the least effort. These strategies are even more critical on Powerstroke engines because they are so time consuming to work on. This seminar contains field-tested diagnostic & repair strategies that actually work, and includes tips and tricks developed in shops across the nation. Come for some great shortcuts & homemade tools to quickly isolate faults that can take hours more to find using conventional diagnostics.

*Johnson City, TN: June 19th & 20th

ADVANCED CIRCUIT & ELECTRICAL TESTING: This class is about using wiring diagrams as part of a larger strategy to increase testing accuracy and decrease testing time (and even the number of tests performed). We're combining wiring information with codes, symptoms, system interactions, Scan Tool PIDs & controls, and other observations.

*Greensboro, NC: June 12th & 13th

*Fayetteville, NC: June 14th & 15th

*Nashville, TN: June 21st & 22nd

CUMMINS COMMON RAIL DIESEL & DURAMAX LML/LGH DIESEL: Diesel engines are very simple -- just compress some air and fuel and you get combustion. But with the advent of common rail fuel pressurization and delivery symptoms, diagnosis and repair became a complicated and time-consuming game. Add variable vane turbochargers, feedback EGR systems, and exhaust aftertreatment systems like Diesel Particulate Filters, Selective Catalyst Reduction, and Diesel Exhaust Fluid injection, and it's hard to know where to start. Other published Cummins and Duramax repair information is inconsistent, and many of the flow charts run you in circles performing tests that would take days. In contrast, our approach looks for high-level indicators to make a better possible-cause list, and then offers multiple simple tests to trim that list as fast as possible without taking too much apart. Cummins and Duramax are each comprehensively covered in separate sections, including special tools, workarounds, unused Scan Tool functions, and other great shortcuts. From a simple high-level pass to system-specific tips, this seminar covers the entire diagnostic process. We have included dozens of real world examples to prove that these strategies will find the root cause of your code or symptom in the shortest amount of time.

*Norwalk, CT: June 7th & 8th

*Hartford, CT: June 14th & 15th

*Rohnert Park, CA: June 26th & 27th

*Sacramento, CA: June 28th & 29th

SCAN TOOLS: BEYOND THE FLOWCHART: This all-new Scan Tool seminar was built using a completely different approach -- to show the best PIDs, controls and other Scan Tool functions to use for each diagnosis. We've reinvented Scan Tool training because button-pushing and menu navigation don't make you more successful. Rather, success comes when you know your Scan Tool so well that you can set the flowchart aside and 'make up' your own diagnostic path. Not only is this path more accurate -- it's quite a bit shorter than the flowchart. There are dozens of examples of this strategy in action, diagnosing the most common faults. Come to learn these great new techniques for zeroing right in on a root cause.

*Des Moines, IA: June 12th & 13th

*Sioux City, IA: June 14th & 15th

CHRYSLER DRIVABILITY & CODE DIAGNOSTICS: This all-new Chrysler training seminar is the latest installment in our Engine Performance series, and continues the evolution of our products from a systems-based layout to a diagnostics-based layout. Because of the new format, today's more complex symptoms and codes become easier to understand in the classroom and far easier to diagnose back in the shop. This approach applies to new and legacy engine management systems, so it will change the way you approach any Chrysler vehicle. This seminar and manual were built by analyzing actual diagnostic struggles and documenting the shortest diagnostic paths for engine management and emissions systems. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Fiat applications have a tremendous number of no-starts, stalling complaints, misfiring, and trouble codes that really mean something else. This seminar focuses on the best practices to give you victory over these faults, so it's a great investment in your career.
