Journeyman-Level Automotive / Driveability / Smog Technician

Skills needed for this position include, not restricted to, the following:

Inspects and diagnoses automobiles. General service & repair. Determines corrective action necessary to make repairs. Completes preventative maintenance requirements. State Smog Technician certified. Communicates with other Technicians, Dispatchers and Service Writers. Driveability /Electrical Inspections. Adheres to all safety rules and regulations.

Other Important Aspects: Must have own tools, ASE Certified or future plans to become certified, California driver's license and clean driving record.

Knowledge of equipment required includes: Brake Lathe, VAT40, Press, Hand Tools, Baum Scanner, Snap-On Scanner, O.T.C. Scanner, Vantage Pro, DVOM, AllData; read, interpret and work from plans, drawings and specifications and knowledge of other automotive repair and service equipment.

Personal qualifications judged most important for this job are: Ability to read and write English, automotive experience, confidence, productive, accuracy, promptness, cleanliness, follow oral and written directions, analyze situations accurately and take correct action, dependable, persistence, time management, independent, problem solving, dealing with complexity.
