That is a rather odd issue. 4.2 comes with the plastic scanner module; 4.4 doesn't. When we bought our Modis, we were handed over the unit and both updates (4.2, and 4.4) by our dealer. A paper came in the version 4.4 update stating the differences that existe... Login to read more.
