If this vehicle is indeed a 96 you don't need a scan tool..infact one won't work on it. With the engine running (because it is a diesel) ground the diagnostic terminal and count the flashes. If this is a 4wheel abs ( you don't mention that) then a scan tool is... Login to read more.
