Ron, my son runs a '79 Cutlass that had a 454 when he bought it but now runs a blown 400 small block Chevy. He used a 3 1/2" channel iron for the rear transmission support modified to clear the dual 2 1/2" S/S exhaust. He's never had a problem with it. My '77 ... Login to read more.
