The only BMWs I know of that you can't rev in park are the ones with the ZF HP22 transmission which was about 1985-88. Those when prompted to do a TSI test will only ask for idle NOW. I smoked the trans in a 5 series in about 1991. At that time BMW paid for it... Login to read more.
