As I seem to recall, it was the Honda 3 valve heads that used a stratified (richer) charge induced by the 3rd valve right next to the spark plug in order to help ignite the lean mixture. This is why the CVCC engines had 3 barrel carbs. I believe the Mitsubishi... Login to read more.
