I've fixed a bunch of these 4.0s without EGR. If its in fuel control as your lambda would indicate, and there is sufficient CO for reduction (I like .5%), the cat is the culprit. They are very common failure items. Robert Schrader is correct and a fuel system ... Login to read more.
