Dear industry family-
"The influence of a great instructor can never be erased."
Many of you have had the honor of knowing Harvey Chan on a
personal and/or professional level. Whether it was through
iATN postings, a regional training event, a local group of
technicians gathered for training, a Skype group, or even at
VISION, you could find Harvey sharing his wisdom,
instructing theory, mentoring technicians and inspiring all
who were around. There is no doubt that Harvey has made a
permanent mark on our industry.
Upon request of several of Harvey's close friends, we
created a website (http://www.harvey.visionkc.com. This is your
opportunity to show appreciation for the impact Harvey has
made on our industry. Please visit this site and take a
moment to share your memories, funny stories, or even
something Harv has taught you through the years. Harvey, his
wife, Pat, and their family are enjoying reading the many
comments and stories that have already been shared.
You can also help carry on his passion to help educate and
inspire future technicians. A scholarship is being set up to
fund individuals to attend the VISION HiTech Training & Expo
event. Recipients will be selected by a committee of
Harvey's close friends and colleagues. Donations will be
directed to the Technicians of Tomorrow Educational
Foundation (a 501c3 not-for-profit).
We challenge every automotive service professional to follow
Harvey's example.
Godspeed, dear friend.
