The DD15 engine hold almost 50 quarts of synthetic oil. Most Mercedes or BMW with a 10-15k service intervals hold 7-8 quarts. Both vehicles run high grade synthetic and it seems like this article suggests 50 quarts will take either engine 75k-100k miles.
