I've seen the same problem with the early Toyota 1AZ-FSE GDI engine. No problems with the standard 1AZ, but the FSE likes to snap timing chains. Toyota calls for 5W-20, but I wonder if it could be because of the additional load from the pump... Later on, Toyot... Login to read more.
