Luke,

Lloyd pointed out several good things, but don't try to adjust the linkage to the Neutral stop. You'll be all day trying to make it right.

ALL Fords of that era are adjusted in D-1 or D. The exception being Trucks and Vans, THEY are adjusted to N. Login to read more.
