GM 6T70 Shift Flare
Just thought I'd post this to help anyone having problems with these transmissions. I already fixed this one. I bought this car last year with a salvage title, so don't know the history. Car had the problem since I owned it. 3-4 upshift would flare, especially on very light accell. First, I tried a Sonnax valve body kit. That made no noticeable difference. Then I tried modifying the programming using Efilive, to command the shift time much lower. I could make it shift very firm on moderate accelleration doing this, but I felt it was simply a bandaid for the real problem. After talking to a transmission shop, I decided to replace the accumulator body and TEHCM. I'm still not sure if I messed up something in the valve body, or if the accumulator body was bad off the shelf, but I lost reverse at that point, and 3-4 shift was no better. At that point I was tired of messing with it, so I ordered a complete valve body from Ream Man Valve Bodies. Finally, the trans is shifting as it should.
