4L80E 2-3 SHIFT
This car has a 5.3LS 400hp (not the 6.6L). The transmission is a 4L80E with an electronic controller set for full throttle up shifts at 6000 rpm. I built this transmission with a dual feed direct clutch, a full set of stock direct clutch return springs, and a .039 bleed hole on the outside of the direct drum at the bottom of the outer seal surface. I used a transgo shift kit and lock up valve. The converter is a billet 3000 stall with lockup. I have rebuilt several this way. The problem is in drive at full throttle the 1/2 shift is 6000 rpm, the 2/3 shift is 4800 rpm, the 3/4 shift is 6000 rpm. With the shift lever in the 2 position and at full throttle the transmission still shifts into 3rd every time at 4800 rpm. Any suggestions?
