i remember 10 years ago i had similar issue of harsh shifts in all gear in 2wd ranger, and was because of the rear axel speed sensor(diff) , not sure what year was it but was for sure electronic one , if the o/p speed sensor on the trans was meant for shifting... Login to read more.
